Mission:

  • Provide baseline information and document trends in water quality for Ann Lake.
  • Educate lake residents, users, and interested citizens in the collection of water quality data, lake ecology, and lake management practices.
  • Build a constituency of riparian owners to practice sound lake management at the local level and build public support for lake quality protection.
  • Provide a cost-effective process for the DEQ to increase baseline data for lakes state-wide.

Cooperative Lakes Monitoring Program (CLMP)

CLMP is the statewide program administered by Michigan State University Extension.  About 220 of the over 10,000 lakes in Michigan participate in the CLMP each year. ALPOA has participated for many years, deeming it an important purpose of its mission and very existence. ALPOA is able to do so with the funding afforded by membership dues. Go to the CLMP website for more information about the program.
